Bio

Bennon Gössel is both classical percussionist and jazz musician. Even during his studies, these two focuses have been crystallized and especially the improvisation became a central part of his music making.

He completed his study of drums at the "Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Standort Wuppertal)" with Prof. Christian Roderburg, Mathias Haus and Mirek Pyschny ("Bachelor of Music in Education" and "Master of Music").

Bennon Gössel also received important impulses in workshops and master classes with David Friedman, Tony Miceli and Stefan Bauer.

In New York he collected many musical and extra-musical impressions that inspired him to compose and arrange himself. Back in Germany he founded the "Bennon Gössel Quartet", with which he performs in jazz clubs all over Germany.
At the European Vibraphone Festival "Spring Vibes" 2017, he appeared as a soloist in "Ensemble Q" alongside Tony Miceli.
In 2019, together with Prof. Wolfgang Seifen, he played the opening concert for the "15th International Organ Improvisation Festival" in Berlin.

Bennon Gössel works as a freelance musician, instrumental pedagogue, as well as composer and arranger.
